wedding programs...ick...

hey guys! sorry it's been so long! buuuut.....honestly, i forgot my password! hahaha.

but thanks to samantha i am back! i didnt even think anyone really read this blog.

sooooo this post is gonna be about wedding programs -- which honestly, i find to be completely STUPID! serioussssly. but, i know most people don't feel right NOT having them -- so i've been researching some creative ideas...SO! here we go....

#1 The TELEGRAM -- this was a vintage inspired wedding where the bride made the programs to look like old western union telegrams--- ADORABLE!

#2 The FAN -- okay, now i know that it isn't an original idea to make a fan (especially for an outside wedding) but i am sick of seeing the same old things, so here is a little twist to the fan idea....the wedding party is on the back with cartoon-like drawings and on the front is all the information in a cute font.

okay, this is pretty sad....but this is all i could find (maybe katy can help me out here)

juuust wanted to post some super cute save the dates. i really believe save the dates are such a great avenue to show the couples personality. so people, go crazy with these things because they can be SO adorable. seriously people.

so what im saying is that you guys should show no mercy when designing save the dates because the more creative the better (as always).

The Color Series: Light or Sky Blue

I'm going to be doing a color series over the next few weeks. There are those few colors out there in the wedding world that can be tough to work with. One of those is light or sky blue. I'm not talking about tiffany blue...I'm talking about pale almost 'baby boy' blue. Know what I mean? A little something like....

What? You mean you don't like that? Haha! That's what I think of when I think of light blue. I think of really pale dresses and even paler (word?) people wearing them. It's usually just a color that washes people out. And while it can be a tough color to work with...it is definitely possible.

The bridesmaids could carry white or yellow (tulips would be cute!). If you're worried about it being too monochromatic, try adding red, gold, orange or any shade of blue to the mix. A couple nice neutral bases that would work well are chocolate or gray.

Next Color Series: lavender

hot. hot. hot.

I love a good bold color combo. If I had gotten married...three years ago, I probably would have tried to convince Matt to go with the Hot Pink/Navy Blue combo. It probably would have had a little seafoam green in with it too. Add in some argyle or plaid, a nice navy blue suit (possibly pinstripes?)...and there you have it.
